"Yesterday is but today's memory, and tomorrow is today's dream"
Khalil Gibran
The Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal embody the diversity of our planet and the achievements of its peoples. They are places of beauty and wonder; mystery and grandeur; memory and meaning. They represent the best Earth has to offer. They are some of the most outstanding examples of humanity's cultural achievements and work of human creative genius; a significant stage in human history.
Most important of all, they represent human determination, initiative, conviction, persistence and the efforts of its people.
India, one of the oldest living civilizations of the world; is colourful and vibrant, a land as diverse as its people, a mosaic of faiths, cultures, customs and languages that blend harmoniously to form a composite whole. The heritage of India incorporates both the tangible and the intangible; landmarks, places, buildings and contents, spaces, views and the stories associated with them. Every region of this great country has a history, the stories of courage and valour, struggle, sacrifice, wisdom and achievement; some known but most of them forgotten, unrecognized and buried in the void of anonymity and obscurity of time.
"Shikwa Havelis" are a celebration of the indomitable Human Resolve, Perseverance and Endeavour
